Omni was the first BI company in the Databricks Ventures portfolio. We’ve been helping joint customers accelerate AI adoption and build customer-facing data products for years, and this award marks a new milestone in that relationship.
Using Databricks and Omni together #
As more and more teams build their data foundations on Databricks, they're coming to Omni to make that data accessible and reliable across the business through our BI and AI.

Omni connects directly to Databricks and supports a bi-directional connection to Metric Views in Unity Catalog. When you run a schema refresh, each metric view syncs into Omni as a native Topic (curated dataset), complete with field definitions, descriptions, and lineage from the Databricks semantic layer. Users can analyze those governed metrics through our AI agents, spreadsheets, point-and-click UI, or SQL — without recreating the logic. And with our Metric View Generator skill, teams can push updates made in Omni back into Unity Catalog to keep definitions consistent across the enterprise. This allows both data teams and business experts to contribute to the semantic model.
Databricks provides a unified foundation for data, analytics, and AI. It brings enterprise context, governance, and openness to AI initiatives. Omni extends that foundation to business users through governed self-service analytics and AI-powered experiences.
The result is that the metrics your data team defines in Databricks are the same metrics your business users see in Omni, whether they're asking our agent (Blobby) questions in natural language, using a spreadsheet, or exploring a dashboard.
As Databricks continues to expand Unity Catalog Business Semantics and AgentBricks, the need for trusted, reusable business logic only grows. We were proud to be a launch partner for Agent Bricks, and will continue to work together to help customers operationalize secure agentic workflows at scale.

Heidi’s AI-powered medical scribe runs more than 2.2 million sessions per week across multiple regions. To support that growth, they rebuilt their entire data stack, choosing Databricks for infrastructure and Omni for BI + AI.
Omni sits on top of that infrastructure, giving every team the ability to reliably answer their own questions. Heidi also enriches Omni's semantic layer with business context from Notion and Cursor, so AI responses reflect how their business users actually think and speak.

BambooHR launched a new Elite analytics product tier in 4 months, enabling self-serve reporting for 30K+ people at launch before quickly growing to 100K+ people.
With Databricks and Omni, they were able to provide the customization their customers expect while meeting strict security and performance requirements. Since launching, customer satisfaction increased by 15%+ compared to their legacy in-app reporting experience.
