Docs AI, Editing Visualizations Directly on the Dashboard, Unlimited Schedules and Downloads, dbt Environment Clean-up and More

March 7, 2025

  • The launch of docs helpers in our AI experience. Now you can ask blobby about not just data questions or how to interpret the data, but also how to model, visualize, or configure Omni (with deeplinks too).

  • We're getting close to full vis config controls directly from the dashboard. No more jumping back and forth to the workbook unless you really want to.

  • Sometime folks need all the data and they need it in email. Sadly most mail providers don't allow that, but now you can schedule unlimited datasets with a call back to download data of any size via Omni.

  • Some new tooling to make sure Omni metadata stays in sync with your dbt repo. More clarity for understand how Omni sees your dbt environments.

  • A new demo of richer interaction for a tabbed dashboard experience. This is still a custom markdown object, but we'll look to build into our native experience as well.

  • We're making it simpler for users to orient in a blank workbook - clear pointers to curated data sets, but also offering more options around other tables in the warehouse or CSV when the use cases may be different.

  • All the beautiful work to improve color management and simplify interaction is now available for conditional formatting in the data table as well.

  • A new example of XMR charts in Omni, popularized for process control use cases.

  • We've heard from customers that you love color modeling, but lots of data sets have columns that need duplicated metadata (say event schemas with a table per event type). Here we show off how to model color once but propagate the metadata to many fields - single place to maintain and push changes.

  • We show off a new API for moving content between environments that will also be a building block towards fully automated content creation.

  • We sped up content validation on large models - always striving to make cleanup easier.
