EAV Modeling, AI with Subqueries, Paginated PDFs, Trellis Soon, MCP Soon, and Lots More

June 20, 2025

  • A deep dive into all the special work we put into EAV modeling. Between some API workflows for dynamic field creation and per-customer model extensions, Omni now has a best-in-class approach to one of the most complex database structures. And of course this now unlocks all of the AI workflows on-top of these complex structures too.

  • Blobby has a new superpower. Now when folks want multi-stage queries Blobby can create filter-by-query UX on the fly (think 'show me spend growth of user spend for customers that made a first purchase in 2020').

  • Lots of work to make sure scheduled dashboards look great. Now dashboards will intelligently chunk into paginated PDFs for the paper lovers out there.

  • We've got resizing working smoothly on trellis charts. Few more finishing touches and these should be in customer hands.

  • The content validator is getting smarter. Now we'll clearly differentiate branch-specific drafts for better triage of model impact.

  • We're working on lifting the Omni MCP server into the Omni deployment. This and auth are the final steps to getting Omni MCP in customers' hands.

  • AI context everywhere. This time you can add connection/model ai_context for routing Blobby inside multi-connection deployments.

  • A quicker way to group fields in the data table directly from the context menu.

  • We're now logging all of the permissions changes at the content level. Will add to the analytics available to admins soon.

  • We sped up dashboards by optimizing the content menu a bit. Will be especially efficacious on the largest dashboards.

  • In our most meta demo of all time, we start taking a look at our demo video data. Will get this loaded into analytics for folks who want to more easily browser the archives with some structure.
