Docs in the IDE, Cube Building, Lots of AI, External Model Dev Launch, dbt Metrics, Spreadsheet Export, and More

October 10, 2025

  • A first look at in-line documentation in the IDE. No more digging for docs as you build, now you have the full model reference code base at your fingertips.

  • We added a UI builder for Cubes (aggregate awareness to build intermediate caching), plus layered in clear debugging for the inspector. This is all in service of faster dashboards and exploration for everyone.

  • Lots of AI

    • Blobby has a new skill - now you can bring files into your AI analyses - including CSVs, PDFs, and images. This means Blobby can be used for "vanilla" analyses, alongside Omni queries. Also includes some discussion of future extension points.

    • We massively increased the data available for summarization and analysis via AI. There are still limits for enormous data sets based on Claude token input limits, but now we're using all of it.

    • Continuing to iterate on deep research mode to make Blobby more disciplined around multi-query workflows and logical chains. Here we make sure each task is being completed and checked off.

    • We added some helper text for editors to understand the AI experience that will be available to dashboard AI users.

  • We're getting close to release our external IDE experience in NPM. Search for "Omni Client YAML Local Something Something" soon.

  • We're still working on bringing your dbt semantic models into Omni. We've extended model building to metrics in your dbt models, plus bit of discussion on future work.

  • Continuing to tune up the level-of-detail metrics building experience, including some new icons to make them clearer.

  • Now your spreadsheets will export in all their formatted glory for both downloads and scheduling. We'll also bring dependency data tabs to make sure everything is working nicely.

  • We polished up the experience with subtotaled tables and controls to allow for dynamic grouping hierarchy and layouts.

  • Bunch of polish to the table resizing experience, and bit of work on icons in the IDE as well

  • We'll be opening up IDP initiated SAML next week for customers, so enjoy one final demo.

  • We've improved our testing to allow for more, faster development for our team.
