Blobby Mobile, An AI Demo on Our Actual Data, Front End Topic Building, API Mini Apps, Scheduler APIs, and Much More

May 9, 2025

  • We're bringing a first class AI experience to mobile. So many of the amazing AI use cases are tactical lookups or quick one-off questions. Now they have a first class experience for your phone.

  • We anonymized our Salesforce data so we could show you all how we actually use AI internally (spoiler - it's actually good). A great example of *actual* self service with all of the governance of an enterprise BI tool.

  • We're lifting more and more configuration into the front end. Soon you'll be able to build topics fully from the UI.

  • Continuing work to manage query views from the UI, making it easier to manage and adjust.

  • Now you can control whether we guess at new visualizations. Helpful when you want to tune queries and make sure visualizations remain static.

  • More vis work to bring flexible labeling to multi-measure charts.

  • It wasn't easy enough to filter over future dates like starting two quarters out for two quarters. Now it's a couple clicks.

  • Blobby is getting smarter. Now AI query can use XLOOKUP to merge queries together like time-series on independent dates.

  • Now you can build schedules via API, great for bursting and embedded use cases.

  • Another preview of functionality we'd like to add to the core app. This is an API runner for all sorts of bulk application controls like user or content management.

  • Another vibe coded app for taking advantage of the Omni API. Let us know if you'd like the code.

  • More vibe coding, this time for getting Omni content and queries into the Figma UI for high-fidelity design work. So many options on top of the Omni API.

  • Another mini app example, this time a Typescript SDK on top of the Omni API.

  • We've added new user-controlled tooling to the app so that users can flip on robust logging to allow us to debug stickier application issues. Just more to keep the app running better for everyone.

  • We'll now use source to mix table references with jinja references when we push queries back into dbt models.
