Lots More AI (Homepage AI, Multi-Vis), Sankey Launch, Multi-Fact Topics, Paginated Subtotals and Huge Bucket of QOL Work

January 16, 2026

  • Batch of AI

    • We're making it easier to get to Blobby, plus some admin controls for folks who aren't quite ready.

    • We tuned up the summary experience to even share grouplets of visualizations alongside summary text.

    • More work on our Model Inspector tool for understanding the data model inside the AI experience. Plus a bonus internal demo of continuing to build out our Claude Code workflows.

    • We improved the UX to make tool calls (filter value checks, model calls, etc) more explicit in the UI, so users can understand everything Blobby is doing at query time.

    • Now the MCP server can intelligently route queries between different models rather than locking to a single model.

    • Bit of work to see more detail on how fields are used in the AI experience from the chat UI.

  • Sankey charts are launching, now with color controls as well. Plus stick around to the end for a preview of the next set of vis work.

  • Building on our request access workflows - now viewers can request edit access for dashboard they want to tune as well.

  • A new multi-base-view topic in Omni. TJ gives a quick explainer of multi-fact entities and how you can now model them in Omni.

  • Now you can quickly point filter-only fields at the view itself for dynamically filtering a view with minimal modeling.

  • The Oracle database connector is now in preview for folks.

  • Now you can page through infinite results inside the subtotal UX.

  • We added some explicit position debugging UX with XY coordinates for precision tuning your dashboards.

  • Progress continues on new dashboards - now with more controls for layout and padding.

  • Tons of QOL, directly from customer requests

    • Inside workbooks you can now quickly see topics in use across your other tabs for faster navigation.

    • Another customer-requested-this-week improvement so that when using view-as, there is additional email metadata for differentiating between different accounts or embed users.

    • Bit of quality of life work to pick from the list of user attributes rather than typing in the string exactly.

    • More quality of life work to quickly recover accidental unfavorites.

    • Quality of life work in the IDE as well - here better state management navigating the IDE, like folding, edit/redo state, etc. Just making life more pleasant for developers.

  • And some internal QOL and developer productivity work

    • Our developers get some quality of life work as well - here a tool for renewing AWS tokens.

    • Quick demo of some improvements to our internal tooling for Claude Code to workflow CI debugging.

    • Luke shows off a quick workflow we built to stay up on engineering work weekly using dashboard summary to quickly understand recently shipped code.
